Family Retreats In Italy - Mum and Baby yoga and cooking holidays

Why I set up the Mum and Baby Experience

My name is Rita Kobrak.I am married to Mike and we have a daughter called Alessia who is now 8 and a son,Sebastiano who is nearly 3. They love "coming to work with mummy"

After having worked for many years all over Europe in the travel industry we decided to buy and restore a holiday home in Italy(where my Mum is from). We love the area and am sure you will too. The house was home to a family of 12 and dates back to the 1800's. They lived at La Radicata together with their animals and we are friends with Giovanni, the only remaining son, now in his late seventies.

With the birth of our beautiful baby, Alessia, I  decided that I didn't want to spend so much time working away from home, but still wanted to travel and look after people on holiday, as that is what I loved most about my job. I love cooking, exercise, Italy and  children so decided to combine all my passions into a business.

I joined a fantastic mother and baby club in London called Cupcake and while talking to other mums , I came up with the idea of  mother and baby/toddler holidays .We went about adapting our holiday home to make it child friendly. There are plenty of outside and indoor toys, baby cups , plates , cutlery, cots , highchairs and paddling pool. We have cds of Italian and English baby songs and plenty of ideas to keep little ones entertained. We work with the local community and use fresh, local, mainly organic food.

I used to work part time in a london nursery so have been CRB checked, have first aid and food hygiene certificate

When I was struggling to become pregnant we applied to adopt. However , soon after I became pregant but had researched alot about adoption and fostering. This year I met Joy Carter, an inspirational musician, who was adopted herself and is passionate about finding more families to adopt and foster children That is why 10% of all breaks this summer go to the adotion through comedy charity. see link below.

We also support the charity Children do matter  www.childrendomatter.org  a wonderful small charity providing educational materials and support to a school in Nepal.

She comes to teach us the secrets of perfect pizza making on the last evening when we make pizza in the outside wooden oven. She makes it looks easy and helps you learn the techniques.
Giovanna is originally from Verona in the north of Italy, famous for polenta.
